Sisters, the family of this late beloved mother and daughter are allegedly disappointed with the Atlanta Police Department. They feel Shatikey Griffin and her daughter Demiya would possibly still be here, if police did their job, differently. Allegedly, police did not serve the warrant for Griffin's ex-fiance at least 24 to 48 hours earlier.
According to MyFoxAtlanta.com, Chief Turner's response in his own words after Griffin's family met with him is: 'the fugitive team had the weekend off and the warrant was signed on a late Friday.' It shouldn't be a question if the squad should have the weekend off. There should be enough funds to have officers on duty to handle crime 24 hours days, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year, including holidays. We certainly hope they file a lawsuit, because it's just not right.
Our condolences go out to the Griffin family and we are sincerely praying for them.
