Black women, Funeral to be held for Lillian Lewis, congressman's wife

Lillian Lewis was an educated woman who assisted her husband, Rep. John Lewis in politics.   Although, she was not famous like John Lewis, she was the one giving him suggestions throughout his career.   You know the saying black women, behind every great woman is a strong woman?   Well, this is true for Lillian Lewis, a great woman who should be remembered for inspiring her husband, Congressman John Lewis who is also a civil rights activist.

We may not have known a lot about this great black woman, but she is certainly a mentor for all black women, because she learned a lot in her lifetime.  Her best friend and activist, Xernona Clayton says she knew art, literature and musicClayton is the one who introduced Lillian to her husband, John Lewis in 1968.  According to MyFoxAtlanta.com, she leaves behind a legacy at Clark Atlanta University and in the civil rights arena in the Southeast of this nation.
