Black women, the black church took sides with my ex husband who cheated on me with the pastor's son

Yolanda (fictitious name) poured her heart out to us and shared some interesting information, regarding her ex-husband who had an affair with the pastor's son.   She can no longer attend church, because the members of this prominent church in Maryland mistreat her for approaching and confronting the pastor's son at his father's church.  They took sides with him against her.   She admits she still loves her husband and wishes they would have gotten back together, but now he is engaged to be married to the pastor's son.  Now this Maryland church has now changed to a gay affirming ministry, in support of those whom are exploring their desires for the same sex.

Yolanda had been married to her husband Keith (fictitious name) for over 20 years.  She met Keith at this prominent Baptist church when they both were teenagers.  When they became adults, they dated and decided to marry.  They have five grown children around the same age as his gay lover, the pastor's son.   Their children grew up with the pastor's son, Ricky (fictitious name), which has caused a lot of animosity.  Yolanda found out her husband was cheating with Ricky when her gay hair dresser told her.  The gay hair dresser had saw them hanging out together and dancing at a gay club.  Her hair dresser tried to tell her, but she refused to believe it and excused their bond as him being like a big brother to him.   One early morning about 2 a. m., she went down to the garage and thought the noise was Keith lifting weights with one of his buddies, when actually it was what she did not want to believe.   Keith and Ricky were doing what she should have been doing with her husband, we don't want to be too graphic, but you could imagine what she saw.   She shouted for them to stop and Ricky ran out.   She tried to make an appointment with the pastor, but as you know, most pastors of mega-churches cannot be reached, directly.  Of course, a representative of the church offered to help her, but she did not want to share her business with someone who was good friends to both she and her husband.   So the following Sunday, she moved past the armor bearers and approached Ricky about to enter the sanctuary with the first family and requested to speak with him.  He tried to ignore her, but when she insisted, he walked away from his family and spoke with her in the vestibule.  There were church members, along with the pastor and first lady trying listening to their dispute.   She could not believe people whom were screaming and yelling for her to get out of his face.  Yolanda says he had the audacity to deny his affair with her husband, until two weeks later when her husband asked her for a divorce to be with him.

Sisters, there are so many black women whom are enduring the same sort of pain as our dear sister, Yolanda, because of some black churches whom are supporting gay marriages.   It is very wrong for this pastor to change his beliefs to support his son's relationship with this woman's ex-husband.  If you really want to know the truth, this is why the black family is even more divided than it was, 10 years ago.   Yolanda admitted this young man is 20 years younger than her husband, so you know this is nothing but lust.   Let us assure you God is not pleased with pastors subtracting from His Word to please their family members whom have came out of the closet as homosexuals.   The Word of God clearly forewarned us about excluding certain scriptures in Revelation 22:19, Deuteronomy 4:2 and 12:32.   Also, at the end of this article, you will see scriptures that forewarned us about being involved with homosexuality.  Therefore, some black churches who changed into gay affirming ministries, trying to compromise, in order to make peace and be liked by their relatives and friends are in trouble with God, if they do not repent for accepting inclusion.  We are not suppose to support homosexuality so much, where it is destroying marriages the way it did in Yolanda's marriage.

Yolanda we send our prayers out to you and we are so very sorry you are now a divorced woman from a man who chose to be with this young guy.  We want to encourage you to keep serving the Lord and not let go.   Your story is like many other black women whom are losing their husband to the gay affirming movement in some black churches, today.   Just because your husband cheated on you and chose to be gay, it doesn't mean God has left you.   You are not the only black woman whom is being hurt by this revolution that is taking over the minds of many black people.   There are many single black women, because their husband could not control his lustful appetite.  Therefore, you must remain strong and keep seeking God.   Now, you say you cannot return to that particular church, but God has a better church that preaches righteousness.  We are very sorry to admit the truth, but many churches we grew up in, were wrong from the start, our families had no business there.   Therefore, pray and ask God to help you find a good holiness church that does not agree with sin, which are not many today.   However, God not only has the right church for you to attend, but also a good man whom is righteous to be with you.   We will keep you in our prayers and thank you for contacting Souls of Black Women blog.

Biblical Scriptures against Homosexuality
  •  1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."
  • Leviticus 18:22 - "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable."
  • Leviticus 20:13 - "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."
  • Romans 1:26-27 - "Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion."
