Sharees Dennard, 30, got into an argument with her boyfriend and ran him over with her car. She said it was an accident, because he jumped on the hood while she was driving away from her home. Whatever the case, now she will have to accept her fate, after appearing before the court. Sharees Dennard and many other women have allegedly murdered their husband or boyfriend by accident or even on purpose. Because are black women, many of us have suffered too much pain in life from the time of our innocent years. Therefore, there has got to be a better way to deal with our feelings, after facing the man we feel we love in a heated argument. Violence is never an option and even if he jumps on the hood of our car, we must care enough to wait until he gets off.
One of our journalists at AT2W has told us she once lived in Atlanta and her experience with black men was not a good one, overall. She mentioned that the atmosphere there was very bias and it is not just the black men that will drive you to rage, but also the women whom instigate whenever there was a problem with a black man. However, no matter where we as black women live, we as black women have faced such cruelty, even if we happened to communicate with a man we are not in a relationship with. In the midst of an argument, strangely, most of the time there was always a black female around instigating after a black men tore down our dignity with harsh words. Therefore, this extreme hatred between black men and black women is not just a gender issue, it is most definitely a spiritual one. Therefore, if we as black women are smart enough to seek God, we could be the very ones to turn things around for the better. We do not have to resort to violence that will take someone else life or even our own, it is not worth it. It may not be easy, but when we think about all of the cases that could have been resolved a different way, many black women would think twice. Yes, we as black women must make a choice and choose to resolve and turn arguments into peaceful situations. This does not mean you are weak, all this means is that you have integrity, you have some pride about yourself. We must leave the ghetto mentality and turn onto God's mentality. What would Jesus do, if someone degraded us in a heated argument? Would He walk off and say I love you or would He argue and continue until someone loses their life?
Let us all change our mindset and no matter how black women may often instigate while a man says harsh things to us, if we have Christ within us, we can ignore their ignorance. Not saying black women were there instigating during Sharees Dennard and her boyfriend's argument, just needed to also include that fact in this article.
