Celebrity News: Gabby Douglas talks about God and growing up in Christian home

Of course, many of us have heard about how hard Gabby Douglas had it growing up and also allegedly enduring racism in the Olympics, but it is so amazing to hear her talk about God.   It certainly is good to hear Gabby Douglas share how God blessed her to live and survive a blood disorder when she was a baby and her mother, Natalie prayed for her.   Sisters, God is so good and no matter how old you are or how young you are, if you seek God, He will prove His love for you. Therefore, Gabby's testimony should inspire all black women whom often wonder where God is during those difficult times.

Praise God for our dear sister Gabby Douglas, she inspires us christian black women to keep moving forward, no matter how difficult life may seem.   She spoke about how it feels to see your face on the front cover of a magazine, but she did not stop there, she also admitted faith in God got her there.   She says, it was God who kept her strong during all those hard times when she wanted to quit.  How many of you black women can identify with that feeling, over and over again?  Sometimes, it feels God does not love us as black women, because it seems life is much harder for us than other races of woman. However, God says in Hebrews 13:5, He would never leave us nor forsake us. That Word is not just for European women, it is also for us.   So, if this young celebrity can be open and honest about her faith in God, certainly we as Christian black women should not ever be ashamed of Jesus Christ.  Roman 1:16, the Bible says, 'For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.'

To many of you dear sisters who feel God does not love you, please do not ever believe it.   Gabby Douglas has felt like many of us.   Therefore, if you left Christ, because you thought He did not love you, because of how people have mistreated you as a black woman or for any other reason, you need to re-dedicate your life to Christ.   If you never have been saved, the journalists of Souls of Black Women want you to know God loves you, He loves you no less than a white woman or any other person, He loves us all just the same.   If this is you, after you listen to Gabby Douglas testimony, please go straight to our Salvation page, now.  God bless you and welcome to the family of Christ.
