Black Women, Monica Conyers could be transferred to halfway house

Sisters, the wife of John Conyers and former member of the city council, Monica Conyers could be leaving prison to be placed in a halfway house.  This is very good news, since she was sentenced to 37 months in prison and her sentence is up in October of next year.  According to Fox 2, Conyers being sent to a halfway house is a part of the negotiation for her release.  As positive black women, we are always glad whenever a professional sister gets another chance at freedom.

We do not know if you recall, but Monica Conyers who the Detroit City Council President Pro Tem is famous for speaking her mind during heated discussions.   She got caught up in a scandal that involved bribery while serving on the city council, but most of us feel this is not the end for her in the world of politics and it is not just because she is married to Congressman John Conyers, it is because she is very intelligent and does not mind being honest about certain subjects that negatively affect the citizens of Detroit.   Sincerely, we feel Monica Conyers is a very caring person.  However, we disagree with political consultant Adolph Mongo that she should keep a low profile.  Why should she have to keep a low profile, just because she allegedly made a mistake?   Life goes on for strong black women, although some of our sisters had to do time in prison.

Thank God Monica Conyers is out of prison and we pray she has a plan to move forward and put the past behind her, because no one is exempt from making various mistakes in life, even if it means losing a prestigious position, because of alleged wrongdoing.
